gotRoasted started because I kept buying nice-looking bags of coffee and feeling like I was missing the whole story. Decided to just roast it myself and share everything I find out along the way.
honest.
You know which farm your olive oil came from. You know the vintage of your wine. But coffee, one of the most traveled and processed foods in the world, usually comes with nothing but a vague region and a nice-looking label.
We buy small quantities from importers we trust, roast in tight batches, and publish every detail: the farm, the altitude, the processing method, the exact roast date. Not as a marketing trick. Just because we think you deserve to know.
When a batch sells out, it's gone. We don't blend away the interesting bits to hit a consistent flavour profile. Each bag is what it is.
The person who grew this coffee probably has no idea where it ends up. We try to close that loop — importers who visit the farms, know the farmers by name, pay fairly. If we can't trace it back to a person, we don't roast it.
Small batches mean we actually pay attention to each one. We'd rather sell out than roast more than we can do properly.
Batch number, farm, altitude, processing, roast date, importer. It's all on the bag and behind the QR code. No vague "single origin" labels.
We include brew guides for a reason. Great coffee ruined by bad brewing is a waste. We want you to actually taste what we tasted when we decided to buy this lot.
The
Roaster
I spent years buying specialty coffee without really understanding what I was drinking. The bags were beautiful. The tasting notes were poetic. But I had no idea who grew it, how it was processed, or whether anyone along the chain was paid fairly.
In 2024 I started roasting for myself. I got obsessed with sourcing. I learned to read green coffee specs, to understand processing methods, to trace supply chains. The more I learned, the more I wanted to share it.
gotRoasted is that impulse made real. Small batches, full transparency, no bullshit.
